چکیده
Background: Food products with a low Glycemic index (GI) help control blood glucose levels and may also reduce body weight. The risk of obesity-related chronic diseases increases the consumption refined carbohydrate-rich or diet high GI food choices. Vidaslim®, an Oral Nutrition Supplement was formulated by Signutra Inc, protein blend (whey, soy, casein), dietary Fiber (polydextrose), several phytonutrients attempt to Aim: To determine Vidaslim® in fifteen overweight / obese people aged between 20 45 years. Methodology: study participants consumed test food, containing 25 g available carbohydrate. Participants underwent 3 days reference (glucose) testing 1 day 2 wash-out period. In capillary measured after overnight fasting at 0, 15, 30, 45, 60, 90, 120 min consuming random order. assessed using validated protocol FAO ISO (2010). Following this, glycemic load (GL) calculated. Results: Out 15 who completed study, were removed as statistical outliers (GI > mean ± 2SD), hence data presented for remaining 12 participants. age 28.1±5.4 years, mass (BMI) 27.2±2.7 kg/m2. had value 21±3.6 (Mean+SD). not influenced age, sex, total calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, Fiber, physical activity levels. Load 4.86 (low GL). Conclusion: oral nutritional supplement, has GL value, hence, could be suitable healthy supplement those obesity diabetes.

متن کاملAssociation between dietary glycemic index, glycemic load, and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein.
OBJECTIVE This study examined the relation between quality of dietary carbohydrate intake, as measured by glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (GL), and serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) levels. METHODS During a 1-y observational study, data were collected at baseline and at each quarter thereafter. GI and GL were calculated from multiple 24-h dietary recalls (24HRs), 3 rand...
